Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our clinical team in West Memphis. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality diagnostic assessments, individual and group therapy, and crisis intervention to a diverse population. This role requires a clinician who is culturally competent and committed to improving mental health outcomes in the Arkansas Delta region.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Assessment: Conduct initial intake interviews and comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments to determine medical necessity and diagnosis.
  • Treatment Planning: Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans (CBT, DBT, EMDR, etc.) with measurable goals.
  • Therapeutic Services: Provide weekly individual, family, and group counseling sessions in accordance with state and ethical guidelines.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely electronic health records (EHR) including progress notes, discharge summaries, and insurance authorizations (within 24–48 hours of service).
  • Crisis Management: Perform risk assessments and provide immediate intervention for clients experiencing suicidal ideation or acute psychological distress.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate care with primary care physicians, school officials, or state agencies (DHS) to ensure a holistic approach to client wellness.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure: Active license to practice in the State of Arkansas (LPC, LCSW, or LMFT). Applicants with an LAC or LMSW may be considered if they are close to full licensure and have a board-approved supervision plan.
  • Compliance: Must pass a comprehensive background check, including FBI/State Police and Child Maltreatment Central Registry.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal communication, proficiency with EHR software, and a deep understanding of the DSM-5-TR.
  • Performs other duties as assigned 

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Experience working in rural or underserved communities.
  • Specialized certification in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a significant plus.
